In 2013, we embarked on a journey towards sustainability by going paperless, a significant step in minimizing our environmental impact. Today, we’re thrilled to announce the next chapter in our sustainability efforts: planting trees worldwide.

Our pledge

For every new matter we open, and every client review we receive, we will plant a tree. This quarter, we are proudly supporting a reforestation project in Peru, a country facing significant environmental challenges.

Why Peru?

Peru, home to a vast portion of the Amazon rainforest, has experienced devastating deforestation in recent decades. Large-scale logging operations have led to the loss of millions of hectares of forest, impacting biodiversity and contributing to climate change.

Our impact

• Regenerating Degraded Woodlands: The project focuses on revitalizing degraded woodlands in the north-east of the country, empowering local farmers to adopt sustainable farming practices that protect both forests and their livelihoods.

• Combatting Desertification: In the western region, members of the project are working to restore native forests in areas affected by deforestation, prolonged droughts, and unsustainable irrigation practices.

• Supporting Biodiversity: By planting native tree species like walnut and fig, not only is there effort going towards restoring the ecosystem but also enriches a crucial habitat for endangered species like the West Peruvian dove and the collared peccary.

• Improving Soil Health: These trees help to prevent soil erosion and enrich the soil with vital nutrients, creating a healthier environment for both plant and animal life.

• Sustainable Coffee Production: The project integrates the planting of shade trees with the cultivation of Arabica coffee, promoting sustainable and environmentally responsible coffee production (important when you drink five cups a day!).
